By virtue of Proclamation No. 675, September of every year is being celebrated as the National Peace Consciousness Month. For this year, the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) and the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF), in particular, the Bureau of Peace and Conflict Resolution, collaborated in holding the PeaceTalk Campus Tour in various colleges and universities across the county.

The Tour includes a forum, film showing, discussion of Bangsamoro history and a Peace Day Celebration in the following institutions: Bicol University, Ateneo de Davao University, Miriam College, Notre Dame University, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Western Mindanao State University, University of Cordilleras and University of the Philippines-Cebu.

The new peace roadmap under the Duterte administration and Bangsamoro history were highlighted in order to provide knowledge and facilitate understanding on the roadmap to peace, increase awareness and appreciation for Bangsamoro history, and be able to generate support for the peace process and promote solidarity with Bangsamoro toward just and lasting peace.

NCMF was in-charge of the discussion of the Bangsamoro history, culture and issues, the struggle for self-determination and the quest for peace in Southern Philippines. NCMF invited history professors and/or peace process practitioners such as NCMF Commissioner Atty. Mohammad Al-Amin Julkipli, Prof. Abhoud Syed Lingga, Prof. Juvanni Caballero and Prof. Alih Aiyub to serve as resource persons on the matter.

Peace Month Activity conducted from September 15-30, 2016 in various universities in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
