supreme court releases list of successful shari’ah counselors for 2022

 

On July 26, 2022, the Supreme Court, through Special Shari’ah Bar Examinations Chairperson and University of the Philippines-Institute of Islamic Studies Dean Macrina A. Morados, announced the results of the Special Shari’ah Bar Examinations held on March 20 and 22, 2022 at the University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City. Out of the 532 examinees, only 156 takers passed, with a 29.66% passing rate. The passing grade was lowered from 75% to 70% for this examination.

The Supreme Court of the Philippines (SC), through the Office of the Bar Confidant (OBC) in coordination with the Bureau of Muslim Cultural Affairs, through the Shari’ah Training and Education Division conducted the Oath Taking Ceremony of the Seventy-One (71) successful examinees of the 2020 Special Shari’ah Bar Examination on March 23, 2021, at 9:30 in the morning via Zoom. The only personalities present in the SC Session Hall during the Oath Taking Ceremony are the Honorable Chief Justice Diosdado M. Peralta, along with the other SC Justice and the Chairman of the Board of Examiners.

Roll signing of the 2020 special shari’ah bar passers

 

The signing of the Roll of Shari’ah Counselors at Law of the 2020 Shari’ah Bar Passers was conducted at the Division Hearing Room, New Building, Supreme Court on June 9, 2021, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Only those who attended the Oath-taking ceremony via video conference last March 23, 2021, participated in the Roll Signing. The BMCA through the Shari’ah Training and Education Division assisted the OBC-SC with Information dissemination of the said activity to the concerned passers.

The Office of the Bar Confidant, Supreme Court of the Philippines administered the signing of the Roll of Shari’ah Counselors at Law of the 2020 Shari’ah Bar Passers, headed by Deputy Clerk of Court and Bar Confidant Atty. Rosita M. Requillas-Nacional grey coat and Atty. Emil Lejano, seated beside Atty. Requillas-Nacional.
